Age 18: This is a WW2 army barrack that was converted into a residential home in 1950. The residence is in the historic sector of Gainesville Fl. The home was being condemned due to ill-repair and was slated for demolition if it wasn’t fixed up. So my family and I fixed it up by replacing siding, painting it, and adding structural support. Due to the renovations, the historic home wasn’t condemned and there are plans for it to be put back in use soon.
Age 18: I helped construct a community storage facility. The community is a neighborhood in East Point, GA. I knew someone in the subdivision and they told me that the neighborhood really needed a storage location for their neighborhood clean up equipment. A few others and I constructed a storage facility for them. Over a month or so we: layed the foundation, erected the walls, built the ceiling, and weather protected the structure. After we finished, it went into immediate use.
