I have been experimenting with animation using Blender, a 3D design application. The sample videos show examples of rendering volumetric emission, ambient occlusion, faux surface detail, and photo realistic depth of field; digital fluid simulations; and larger-than-human perspectives high quantity object instancing.
I have been flying drones since I was 9 years old and began customizing drones to my own specifications by age 12. I constructed a custom FPV drone with enough thrust to carry my iPhone 11 Pro allowing me to record gyrostabilized 4k 24fps footage. The videos were taken during various test flights. In one, I sought to tune and refine the gyroscopic system. In the second, I experimented with moving from low to high elevations, dealing with the resulting change in airflow and turbulence. In the third, the maiden voyage of my drone, I tested the accuracy and maneuverability of the system. I edited and color graded each video and added an original score (see Audio Engineering).
I attempt to convey an emotion in as minimal visual information as possible. This allows for me to boil down to what actually is the most important part of the film. I can play around with other attributes, almost as easter eggs. As a still photographer I seek to capture a moment where in day to day life we might pass it by but in a photo we can see the beauty in the coincidental.
I play the guitar and began to incorporate digital sound into my pieces. I began creating audio productions using a Digital Audio Workstation (Logic Pro by Apple). I scored a number of pieces as a way to learn the software and experiment with differing sound experiences. I have used FM synthesis, granular synthesis, and orchestral instrumentation to create specific moods. I have also played around with melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic information in conjunction with spatial audio techniques to create certain emotional responses.
